The work of her hands...

I set out to write about things that I am enjoying right now. As I uploaded each picture I noticed a theme. Things that are made with our hands. Some to nourish our bodies, some to smooth over booboo's, some to pretty our surroundings, and some to carry our possessions.
So I changed the title to reflect my thoughts on this.

Nourish:
Cheesy corn chowder in my lidded soup bowl. I found this beauty at a yard sale last summer and am so glad to christen it with the first fall soup of the season.
Sophie and I altered a gluten free recipe for cheese sticks and came out with cheesy breadsticks to go with our soup. I love working with my children in making food.
Sooth over BooBoo's:
Remember I told you Tessa had her first Etsy sale? When she first started doing Street Fairs with me she came up with the idea for BooBoo Kits. This is real dear to my Mama's heart. She has doctored siblings enough times that she saw a real need for children to receive more than just a band aid. To receive comfort.....and a sucker.
Pretty our surroundings:
Hannah is excited that I finally put the hanging pillow in my shop that she embroidered for someone's babies nursery wall. I love encouraging my children to work with their hands. Sometimes we make it for someone we love, someone in need and sometimes to help with income.
To carry our possessions:
Sophie also has a category in my shop for her creations. She loves to sort through my large bin of the smaller pieces of repurposed upholstery fabrics. I am amazed still each time at what my children make.

She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks. Proverbs 31:17

Since I am home a bit more now I am excited to see some changes happening in the organization in my home and how it helps us to feel more at ease, instead of searching for this or that. Just more cozier. Some days my body doesn't feel like it but then I am not listening to my body about these matters so much anymore.

She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy Proverbs 31:20

Soulemama introduced a new website today that I am excited to dive into. The intent is to encourage us crafters/sewers to reach out to those less fortunate. When I am feeling down about finances or shabby furniture I remind myself that there are others who have it alot worse than I. It is proven that when you help others that you are blessed more than they are.
I count my blessing more and more every day now.
If you would like to take a look at what the excitement is about the website is Mamatomama.

She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31:27

I am finding the more I dig in and am focused on getting my house in order the easier it is becoming. There are always things pressing for our time in the world and it makes me feel good
to know that I am finding some easy ways to streamline the housekeeping portion of it.

She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night. Proverbs 31:18

I am a bit more encouraged with my home business. In the past week I have had two orders for Giddy-Up skirts. You know seasons ebb and flow with things we can do and also be mom. I am excited to be walking back into a season to make more things for my family and my shop.
I did a small update over there if you would like to take a peek.

Hope your day is an enjoyable one!
