My Dad and Step Mom called us last week to ask if we would like to come for a week long visit.
That didnt take too much thought on my part.....yes!!!
We will have a five hour non stop flight into NYC for a short layover and then another short flight to an airport a short distance from their house.
We are soooo excited to be flying into NYC...there is a possibility to see the Statue of Liberty from flying over.
This is a much needed break from life here.
No sewing for business or pleasure, not as much cooking (cooking at someone else's house is much funner), no schooling.....ahhhhhhhhh!
Seeing my dad and step mom, niece and nephew, brothers and extended family.
We have animal care arrangements all set up here for all our critters, my ex will give us a ride to and from the airport here, and EVERYONE we know is sooooo excited for us!

Looking for another digital camera and family update...
Well, we seem to be faring well with our new life change in our family.
I may as well say....there has been a divorce.
We are now moving into uncharted territory but seem to be doing well.
We miss and love the man of the home but as I have been told "things change".
We are going full swing ahead into sewing for Lissilulu to supplement what income we get from my ex-spouse. So we can continue to home school and I don't have to do the *traditional* thing and get a job and upset our whole family way and put the older 4 children into public school and the youngest into daycare.
I am not talking down other's choices for doing those things....just saying; for my family this would be a major upset after what we have already been through.
Soooooo.....we are looking into another digital camera since my daughter's died and we need to be able to put pictures on our newly being created website and also our new Etsy store that looks pitiful with only 4 items. Three of those items are my daughters and not my own to boot!
We have a small pittance in the ole savings account, but looking at digital cameras that are worth anything I see that we have a ways to go.
One thing I have found out through this gray, broken family time is the love coming from online friends and blogger friends.....what compassion there is.
Thanks friends!

Textile Design
I dont know if I have mentioned before that we are Home Schoolers.
If our schooling tastes were to be *labeled* we would most likely be called Relaxed Eclectic.
Welllll.... the older two girls (15 and 12 years old) and I are starting another rabbit trail....I love rabbit trails. You never know where they will lead.
After getting to know Anna Maria a bit lately it made me think of the possibilities for my very creative daughters future. So we have a huge treasure trove of books coming from the library on Textile Design.
We are soooo excited.
As they come I will post titles and a tid bit about them if anyone comments they are interested. :o)

Week in Art--Day 3
This is a self portrait of Hannah and me with her. Can ya tell we both are redheads? I'm the one with the curly hair. Hannah is the one with the little button nose....wait a second, we both have little button noses. :o)
I have no idea for the reasoning of this artwork done by Sophie....isnt that the truth with most art anyway? :o)
Oh, I was just set straight.....this artwork is a magazine.
See the letters (articles) and then the pictures?
Well, who would have known?
Oh, and I guess the yellow haired one is Sophie, the light-blue haired one is Hannah and the dark blue haired one is one of their older sisters Aliss.
Did you notice the grand crown Aliss is sporting?

Week in Art--Day 1
I thought it would be fun to share some computer art my daughters have done or are doing while I wait to get a new digital camera.Hannah's words ( 7 years old):
MIDNIGHT HOUSE TENT
this is a house tent at night. It was made millions and millions of years ago....not for real.
Thats all I can think of.

Sophie's words (4 years old)--
SNOW FLOWER
It's snowing and a flower popped out from the sunshine.
The sunshine means its time to wake up.

Welcome Spring!

It has been an EXTREMELY LONG winter. I feel like I stepped out of one of the Little House on the Prairie books.
Driving through town today I noticed little bits of green tulip or daffodil stems poking out of the ground....birds were singing and the cold just isnt as cold.
I am working on getting a nice digital camera because my daughters met with the ground very unexpectantly one day recently.
Sooooo...hopefully soon there will be lots of pictures of fun things we have been making in our home studio.
P.S. the wheelbarrow garden is from last summer but we couldnt resist a little color right now.
